Briles is the daughter of the late Gerald Alvy Briles. Tedder was born August 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Wall Gallimore.

Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with Dr. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church where she served on several church committees, and a member of the Eastview Garden Club. Tedder was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Dalton Briles, her second husband, Phillip Raymond Tedder, her son, Charles Samuel Briles, and her siblings, Virginia Vestal, Garland Gallimore, Carol Ledwell, and Harold Gallimore.
